Offerings and Pledges

2022 Pledge Season

The Annual Pledge Campaign is upon us. Over the last months you have read of the many and varied aspects of our stewardship in God’s Kingdom. Responsibility for the earth, the sea, the skies, and the critters therein, from the tiniest gnat to the great leviathan of the Sea, and most importantly, our stewardship in the care of one another. We have shared the importance of gathering, of prayer, and of Worship. We have acknowledged the importance of our work to build a kinder and more hospitable world. Now we will explore the intersecting of Prayer and Work in God’s Name that is the Church, in particular, this parish church of St. John’s in Pleasantville.
The Gospel of John speaks of God’s love and of God’s love reflected in our lives; “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in God may not perish.” This is the love, the grace offered to us. This is the message we are to preach and practice. This is the love we are asked to pledge to support. The very building of the Kingdom of God is in our hands.

In the next few weeks you will be contacted by a member of our Vestry, and invited to attend a small group discussion regarding St. John’s the work we do for one another and the work we do for those outside our doors. Please respond to your invitation with gratitude for the abundance of hope filling your lives. These small group informational meetings are designed to encourage questions about St. John’s, the Episcopal Church and the financial effort to continue to make this House of prayer and song a home where God resides. Please join in the discussion.
