Sunday Worship

The Sunday services we offer are described below.

Eucharist at 8:00am.

This service features traditional language in its liturgy. Following the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, worship at 8:00am includes readings from both the Hebrew Scriptures and the Christian Testament. Prayers are offered, a sermon is delivered, and the sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated. There is no music at this service. It is often described as a more reflective, meditative worship experience. For those familiar with the Book of Common Prayer, this service follows the liturgy of Rite I.

Choral Eucharist at 9:30am.

This celebratory worship service includes acolytes and choir in procession, congregational singing, choral anthems, and instrumental offerings by musicians. Following the prayer book rubrics for Rite II, the liturgy in this service makes use of ‘modern American English’ rather than the more Shakespearean English that is used in the 8:00am service. We invite all ages of kids and parents to join us for this Rite II service which will offer sermon, music, and readings. Kids have significant roles in worship. Music is taken from both traditional and contemporary musical resources.

Please note that during the summer, our choir takes a break.
